Parental controls
Last updated: 31 October 2026
Children should never see LickFlix. If kids share your home network or your devices, a few settings will keep adult sites like this one out of reach. All of the tools below are free, and most take only a few minutes to set up.
How the site labels itself
Each page of LickFlix includes the RTA label, short for "Restricted To Adults". This free industry tag sits in the page code and tells filters, browsers and parental-control apps that the content is for adults. The pages also flag themselves as adult content to search engines, so SafeSearch keeps them out of results. Any filter that reads these signals blocks LickFlix on its own, and you don't need to type in our address.
One filter for the whole house: your router
Changing the DNS servers on your router covers every device on your home Wi-Fi at once, game consoles and smart TVs included. Log in to the router's admin page (look for its address on the sticker underneath) and enter the DNS servers of one of these free family filters:
- Cloudflare for Families:
1.1.1.3and1.0.0.3 - OpenDNS FamilyShield:
208.67.222.123and208.67.220.123 - CleanBrowsing Family:
185.228.168.168and185.228.169.168
A lot of routers and internet providers have their own parental controls too, often with time schedules and rules per device. Look in your router's app or on your provider's support pages.
iPhone and iPad
- Turn on Settings > Screen Time on your child's device, or manage your child's Apple Account through Family Sharing.
- Switch on Content & Privacy Restrictions, then go to App Store, Media, Web & Games > Web Content. Older iOS versions call this Content Restrictions.
- Pick Limit Adult Websites. For younger children, Allowed Websites Only is stricter.
- Protect it with a Screen Time passcode your child doesn't know.
Android phones and tablets
- Set up Google Family Link and supervise your child's Google Account with it.
- In Family Link go to Controls > Content restrictions > Google Chrome and select Try to block explicit sites. Leave SafeSearch on under Google Search.
- To cover all browsers and apps on the phone, enter a family DNS service such as
family.cloudflare-dns.comunder Settings > Network & internet > Private DNS. Menu names vary slightly between brands.
Windows PCs
- Create a Microsoft account for your child and invite it into your family group in Microsoft Family Safety (Settings > Accounts > Family).
- Open your child's profile in Family Safety, choose Content filters > Web and search and switch on Filter inappropriate websites and searches.
- The filter only works in Microsoft Edge. Block the other browsers there as well.
Mac computers
- Give your child a separate user account on the Mac, or add them through Family Sharing.
- In System Settings > Screen Time, select your child, open Content & Privacy and switch it on.
- For web content, choose Limit Adult Websites or allow only specific websites, then set a Screen Time passcode.
Good habits that help
- Lock every device with a code that children don't know.
- Let each child use their own user account, not yours.
- Don't save passwords for adult sites in your browser, and log out when you're finished.
- Filters miss things. Keep the conversation going with your kids about what they run into online.
